Canyon & Waterfalls

The Trail of Ten Falls links the Canyon and Rim trail corridors into a 7.2-mile loop with about 800 feet of elevation change. The trail descends through forest into the creek canyon and passes successive waterfalls. At South Falls, the path goes behind the 177-foot curtain of water beneath the surrounding rock overhang.

Trailheads & Shorter Connections

South Falls, North Falls and Winter Falls provide different access points, while connecting trails create shorter loops. The separate North Rim Trail is a compacted, wider route with its own North Falls viewpoint; it is not equivalent to the full canyon circuit. Day-use parking requires a permit, but there is no timed-entry reservation for the trail. Pets are prohibited on Canyon, Winter Falls and Maple Ridge trails.

Terrain Along the Route

Basalt canyon paths, stairs and creek-side forest pass several waterfall amphitheaters.

Oregon State Parks describes 800 ft of overall elevation change, not a measured cumulative ascent. The complete loop is 7.2 miles. Reference Set: 2026-10-23.
