The Route

A forest trail climbs to the rocky Little Si viewpoint above North Bend.

  2. Boulder Garden Junctions0.3 and 0.5 miles
  3. Forest & Boulder FieldsGentler middle section
  4. Rocky Bluff1,550-foot published high point

Lower Switchbacks

The trail climbs sharply for its first quarter-mile before reaching gentler ground. Boulder Garden Loop branches leave at 0.3 and 0.5 miles; the Little Si route stays on the main trail rather than following the loop toward Mount Si.

Forest & Rock Fields

The middle section passes beneath forest canopy beside climbing-access paths, scree and a boulder field. Around 1.3 miles the trail swings around the hillside and begins its final steeper approach to the rocky bluff.

Summit & Return

The published high point is 1,550 feet, overlooking the valley toward Mount Si and Mount Washington. The 3.7-mile return excludes Boulder Garden Loop extensions and Mount Si's Old Trail.

Terrain Along the Route

Forest, boulders and scree border the trail; the final ascent reaches the exposed rocky bluff.

Little Si Hiker Reports

WTA's dated reports cover the bluff trail and lower forest. Boulder Garden Loop and Old Si extensions can appear in the same feed, so their mileage does not necessarily describe the Little Si out-and-back.
