Upper Trailhead Connection
The upper start is around 3,500 feet and immediately climbs to the lower-trail junction after about 0.3 mile. It joins the same mountain ascent, rather than providing a separate summit line. WTA gives this outing as 3.2 miles return with 2,444 feet of gain.
Shared Ascent
Forest switchbacks give way to the seasonal-route junction, open rocky slopes and the summit approach. The summer line passes a notch onto the west slope before reaching the summit rim. Return follows the shared trail down to the upper-trailhead branch, not the additional lower forest approach.
